Everything people ask.
Fit
Will it fit my sunglasses?
If the inside of the lens has about 45 by 26 mm of smooth surface, yes. Flat and mildly curved lenses are easiest; ski and swim goggles fit well; deep sport wraps can crease, so try one pack first and use the flattest part over your line of sight.
Can people see it?
On dark tinted sunglasses, no, in normal use: the patch is clear and sits behind the tint, with at most an extremely faint hairline for a careful eye. On light, clear or mirrored lenses the edge can catch the light at some angles.
Does it correct astigmatism?
No. unblur corrects sphere only. With a CYL of 0.75 or less most people find sphere alone is fine for sunglasses; above that, expect softer edges than your own glasses.
Wear and care
How long does it last?
It is reusable: peel it off, rinse it, put it back or move it to the next pair. A thin film of water holds it. If it loosens after a long day in wind or heat, a drop of water and a press brings it back. We do not print a number of uses until we have tested it.
Can I use it in the pool or the sea?
Yes, inside swim goggles and snorkel masks: dry the inside first, then a little water. Rinse off salt and chlorine the same day.
How do I clean it?
Cool water and a drop of plain dish soap, fingertips only, rinse well and air dry. No alcohol, lens spray, acetone or hot water: they haze silicone.

FAQ
Plain answers, limits included.
Power
Which power do I buy?
Buy the SPH number from your prescription, the one with a minus in front of it. If your two eyes are different numbers, you have two choices. Buy the pack that matches your stronger eye if the two are within 0.50 of each other, which most people find comfortable. If they are further apart than that, buy two packs, one in each power, and use one lens from each. Every pack holds two lenses of the same power, so a mixed pair always means two packs. If you are between two numbers, round toward the weaker one: slightly under corrected is comfortable, over corrected is not. If you would rather not work it out, take the two minute power quiz or send us a photo of your prescription and a person will read it for you.
Where do I find my number?
Three places. On your prescription, in the column marked SPH, as a number like minus 2.25. Inside the arm of your glasses, where some opticians print it. On the box or the foil of your contact lenses, where it is printed as PWR or D, as a number like minus 2.25. If you have none of those, any optician will read your current glasses on a lensmeter in two minutes and most do it free. If you send us a photo of the prescription or the contact lens box, we will tell you which pack to order.
What if I have astigmatism?
Read this one properly, because it decides whether this product is for you. Unblur corrects sphere only. It does nothing for astigmatism. If your prescription has a CYL number of 0.75 or less, most people find the sphere correction alone is enough for sunglasses and barely notice the difference. If your CYL is above 0.75, expect softer edges than your own glasses give you: text at a distance will be readable but not crisp. Some people are completely happy with that for a day on the water or a week on the slopes, and some are not. It is not a fault and it is not something we can fix, so we would rather you knew before you ordered than after.
What if I only know my contact lens power?
Use it, with one adjustment. Contact lens power and glasses power are not identical because a contact sits on the eye and a lens sits about 12 mm in front of it. Under about minus 4.00 the difference is small enough to ignore, so order the same number. At minus 4.00 and stronger, glasses need slightly more power than contacts, usually a quarter to a half step: a minus 5.00 contact wearer is usually around minus 5.25 to minus 5.50 in glasses. Unblur sits in front of the eye like glasses, so use the glasses number. If you are unsure, send us both numbers and we will pick.
Does it work on reading glasses, and do you sell plus powers?
Minus powers, minus 1.00 to minus 6.00, are for distance, and they are the main range. Plus powers, plus 1.00 to plus 3.00, are for near work: reading a phone, a watch, a map or a fly knot through sunglasses or goggles that have no power of their own. Pick the number on your prescription or on the readers you already use. Both lenses in a pack are the same power. If you are not sure which side you need, take the quiz or ask us before you order.
Fit
Does it work on curved or wrap lenses?
Flat and mildly curved lenses: yes, and that is where it works best. Heavy wrap lenses, the deep sport wraps that curve hard around the face: sometimes, and sometimes the silicone wrinkles because the patch is flat and the lens is not. This is the single most common complaint in this whole product category and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If your only pair is a deep wrap, order one pack and try it before you buy three. Two things that help: apply to the flattest part of the lens you can while still covering your line of sight, and use less water so the patch grips before it has a chance to lift at the edges.
Will people see it from outside?
On dark tinted sunglasses, no, in normal use. The patch is clear and sits behind the tint, and from a conversational distance there is nothing to see. On light tinted, clear or mirrored lenses, the edge can catch the light at certain angles and a person standing close may notice a faint outline. On a clear lens in bright direct sun it is most visible. If the fashion side matters to you, start with a dark lens.
Can I cut it to fit?
Yes. Silicone cuts cleanly with sharp scissors, and for small frames, narrow fashion lenses and headset lenses that is the way to make it fit. Cut a little at a time from the outside edge, keep the shape smooth, and never cut into the middle: the centre is the part you actually look through. A rough or jagged cut edge lifts more easily, so take one more small pass rather than one big one. Once you cut it we cannot swap it under the wrong power guarantee, so get the power right first and cut second.
Does it work on ski goggles?
Yes, and it is one of the better uses for it. Goggle lenses are large, which gives you room to place the patch exactly where you look, and you are wearing them over a face that is not moving much. Two things to know. Apply it indoors and warm, not on the chairlift: silicone and cold water do not want to bond in a wind. And a steeply curved toric goggle lens can wrinkle the patch, same as a heavy wrap sunglass, so try one pack on your own goggle before you buy for the whole trip. It also means no more fogging up a pair of glasses underneath, because there is no pair of glasses underneath.
Does it work on a motorcycle visor?
Yes, on the inside of the visor, and it is the only practical way to put your power in a visor: nobody makes a prescription one. Placement matters more here than anywhere else, because a visor sits much further from your eye than a lens does. Put the helmet on, look straight ahead at something, and mark where your line of sight crosses the visor before you apply. Wet it, place it, press out the bubbles. Apply it off the bike, indoors. On a bubble visor or an open face shield it works the same way. Check it before every ride the way you check a mirror.
Does it work in a VR headset?
Yes, and people already do this, but expect to trim it. Headset lenses are small and steeply curved, so a full size patch will overhang and wrinkle. Cut it down to a circle or oval that covers the sweet spot of the lens and no more. The advantage over a prescription insert is that it costs a fraction as much and peels off when someone else wants to use the headset. The disadvantage is that it is a manual job and a made to measure insert will always be neater.
Does it work on swim goggles?
Yes. Clear swim goggle lenses are small and mostly flat, which is close to ideal, and the patch often needs no trimming at all on a standard pair. Apply it dry side up on a clean dry lens with a few drops of water, press the bubbles out, let it sit for a minute before you put them on. Rinse the goggles in fresh water after chlorine or salt and let them dry open. For a full face snorkel mask the lens is much larger and flatter, so placement over the line of sight is the only thing to get right.
Use and care
Does it fall off?
Not in normal wear, but it is not permanent and we are not going to tell you it is. It holds by surface tension with a thin film of water, which is why it peels off with a fingernail and goes onto the next pair. What loosens it is drying out: after several hours in dry heat or wind the film evaporates and the grip fades, and the fix is a drop of water and a press, which takes five seconds. What it will not survive is a hard knock to the inside of the lens or a face first entry into water. Check it the way you would check a contact lens: if the view goes soft, it has moved.
Can I swim in it?
Yes, in goggles and masks, which is the main reason people buy it for water. Water is what holds it on, so being wet is the friendly condition, not the enemy. What moves it is impact and turbulence: a dive off a block, a hard jump into a pool, or a wave straight into the face can shift or lift the patch. For lap swimming, snorkelling and casual pool use it holds. For competitive starts and turns, or serious diving, a permanent prescription lens made for the mask is the right answer and we will say so.
How long does one last?
There is no fixed lifespan and anyone who gives you one is guessing. It is reusable silicone, so with gentle handling and proper cleaning a pack lasts months of regular use. What ends a lens early: a tear at the edge from rough peeling, a scratch from a fingernail or a rough cloth, and grease or sunscreen that will not wash out and leaves a permanent haze. Store it in its case, never loose in a bag, and never face down on a hard surface.
How do I clean it?
Cool water, a drop of plain dish soap, fingertips only, rinse well, air dry, then back in its case. That is the whole routine and it takes thirty seconds. Do NOT use alcohol, lens cleaning spray, acetone, hot water or anything abrasive: they attack silicone and will haze or shrink the patch. Do not rub it with a paper towel. If it goes cloudy after cleaning it is usually soap residue, so rinse it longer. Salt water and chlorine both want rinsing off the same day.
Can I drive with it?
People do, and we are not going to tell you it is a substitute for your own prescription glasses. What we can tell you honestly: the patch covers your central vision, so straight ahead is corrected, and your peripheral vision through the sunglasses is not. Put them on somewhere safe, look around, check your mirrors, and decide for yourself whether it is good enough before you pull out. If the view is soft, the patch is off centre or the power is wrong, and either way the answer is to fix it parked, not moving. It is your call and your licence.
Is it safe for my eyes?
Nothing touches your eye. The patch sits on the inside surface of the lens, several millimetres to several centimetres in front of your face, the same as any pair of glasses. It is not a contact lens and it is not worn on the eye. It is made of soft silicone, the same family of material used across eyewear and medical grade products, and there is no glue and no adhesive chemistry involved: it holds with water. If a lens is torn, scratched or hazed, stop using it, because a damaged lens distorts the view rather than harming anything. Anything beyond that is a question for an optometrist, not for us.
Is this a prescription service?
No. Unblur is a vision accessory, not a prescription service and not a medical device. We do not prescribe, we do not dispense, we do not examine and we do not check your prescription for you. You tell us the number, we send you a lens in that number. It corrects sphere only and it does not replace an eye test or a proper pair of prescription sunglasses. Keep seeing your optometrist on your normal schedule.
Orders
What if I get the wrong power?
We swap it free within 30 days of delivery. Email support@unblur.vision with your order number and the correct power and the right pack goes out. You do not need to return the first one, because the postage would cost us more than the lens, so keep it or pass it to somebody with that number. The one condition is that the lenses have not been cut down, because a trimmed lens is not a power problem. This guarantee exists because "which number do I buy" is the one thing people get wrong, and we would rather carry that risk than have you not order.
How long does shipping take?
7 to 12 days to the United States from dispatch. That is transit time, and it is separate from the day or two it takes us to pack and hand the parcel over. Tracking is emailed as soon as the parcel is scanned by the carrier, and it can sit quiet for the first few days while it moves between hubs, which is normal. If you are buying for a trip, a season or an event, work back from that window and order with room.
How much is shipping?
Free on orders over 49 dollars, which covers the 2 pair and 3 pair bundles. Under 49 dollars there is a flat shipping charge of 4.90, shown at checkout before you pay.
Do you ship to Canada?
Not yet. Canada is coming soon and we are not going to put a date on it, because corrective lenses are regulated differently there and we would rather arrive properly than early. Right now we ship within the United States only. If you are in Canada, leave your email on the site and you will be told when it opens, and you will not get anything else.
What is your returns policy?
Wrong power gets swapped free within 30 days of delivery, no return needed, as described above. For a change of mind, an unopened pack can come back within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the item price and you cover the return postage. Once a pack is opened we cannot resell it, so an opened pack is not returnable for change of mind, and that is why the honest limits are written on the product page instead of buried: if the astigmatism answer or the wrap lens answer rules you out, we want you to know that before you open the packet. If something arrives damaged or the wrong item is in the box, email support@unblur.vision with a photo and we will replace it.
What is in the box?
Two lenses in the power you chose, both the same power, each about 45 by 26 mm, a soft clear silicone D shape with one straight edge and one curved edge. A frosted clear case that holds the pair, sealed in a matte press seal pouch. That is the whole kit: no bottle, no cloth, nothing extra to lose. Tap water does the sticking.
